We understand that individuals struggling with substance use may require different levels of care and support at different points in their recovery journey. Our Partial Hospitalization Program in Atlanta is designed to provide a structured, supportive environment for individuals who require more intensive treatment than traditional outpatient therapy but do not require 24-hour care in a residential program.

What is a Partial Hospitalization Program?

PHP is a structured program, 4-5 full days per week, that provides intensive, comprehensive treatment for individuals seeking recovery on an outpatient level.

Our PHP program includes individual and group therapy, medication management, relapse prevention education, life skills training, and more. With a focus on personalized, compassionate care, we help clients build the skills and tools they need to achieve and maintain lasting recovery.

Unique Benefits of PHP

  • Comprehensive support with flexibility: PHP offers the best of both worlds—intensive care with the flexibility to maintain your daily responsibilities.
  • Regular medical and psychiatric monitoring: You receive consistent medical care without the need for a hospital stay. Thus, making it easier to manage your health and recovery simultaneously.
  • Stepping stone to full recovery: For many, PHP acts as a crucial step between inpatient care and returning to everyday life, offering a supportive transition.

Is Partial Hospitalization Right for Me?

Partial Hospitalization may be appropriate for individuals who require more structure and support than outpatient therapy yet do not require 24-hour care in a residential program. It can be an effective treatment option for individuals who:

  • Have completed a residential program or are transitioning from a higher level of care, such as inpatient treatment
  • Require intensive treatment but have a stable home environment and support system
  • Need access to medical care or medication management during their recovery
  • Have family obligations that prevent an inpatient treatment stay

We offer a comprehensive assessment process to determine if PHP is the right fit for each client’s unique needs and circumstances.

Therapeutic Approaches at Atlas Behavioral Health

Our Partial Hospitalization Program in Atlanta incorporates a wide range of evidence-based therapies and innovative treatment modalities. We believe in treating the whole person by offering a diverse array of therapeutic options to support your recovery journey.

Core Therapeutic Modalities:

Experiential Therapies:

  • Art therapy: Encourages individuals to use artistic expression to communicate emotions that may be difficult to verbalize. By creating art, participants can explore deep-seated issues in a non-verbal, reflective way.
  • Sound bath: Utilizes the vibrations from instruments. These vibrations help reduce stress, calm the mind, and assist in emotional healing by bringing the body into a meditative state.
  • Guided meditation: Involves a therapist leading participants through mindfulness and meditation exercises. This practice helps individuals increase self-awareness, reduce stress, and gain better control over their thoughts and emotions.
  • Breathwork: By controlling the breath, individuals can regulate their stress response, boost relaxation, and enhance their overall emotional resilience.
  • Hiking and golf: Offers outdoor physical activities as therapeutic interventions. These activities not only promote physical health but also encourage a connection with nature.
  • Yoga twice a week: Combines physical postures, controlled breathing, and meditation. Yoga enhances mental and physical health by reducing stress, improving flexibility, and fostering a sense of inner calm through the practice of mindfulness.
  • Loved ones’ day: A special event where family members or close supporters are invited to participate in the therapeutic process. This day offers education and guidance on how to best support their loved ones during recovery, enhancing understanding and communication within family systems.

These therapeutic approaches are integrated into your customized treatment plan, ensuring that you receive a well-rounded and holistic approach to your recovery.
